Everyone has their own definition of responsibility, since they have different moral principles and standards. It depends on the environment they were brought up in and on what obstacles in life they had to go through to get where they are now.
Personally, I feel responsible for my life and for what course of action it takes
This is not only for my sake, but for the sake of my daughter, whose life depends on me. For me, this is even greater responsibility than my life. The life and well-being of my child is my primary concern and no one but me will take care of her. To be responsible for another human being is hard, but also rewarding. You have to be sure that not only their physiological needs are met, but also psychological. When you are responsible for another person, you would give your life for him or her without a second thought. My responsibility extends also to my other family members.
As a medical professional, I feel responsible for the people I treat, my patients, since they trust me with their lives completely. These people trust me with the most important thing they have, and I am responsible for every decision I make regarding their health.
Another thing I strongly feel responsible for is every word that comes out of my mouth. Hence, I do not feel responsible for the politics and politicians, since those people rarely, if ever, take responsibility for their words and act upon it. I believe that the person has power over words; therefore, everything that comes out of the mouth is our direct responsibility, and first of all to ourselves.
To sum up, I would like to say that responsibility is always very personal. In modern world, people do not realize the full importance of the responsibility, since the material world dictates what is important in our lives.
